Orkney is a group of small islands off the north coast of Scotland. With a population of around 20,000 people, the churches there aren’t big enough to sustain a week of day and night prayer individually – but in response to tragic suicides in their community, they united together to intercede.
Watch as Crystal describes what happened next:
And prayer didn’t just stay in the church –
“We were able to meet with a number of local teachers and youth workers and talk about how they can get prayer spaces in schools moving in their local high schools.”
It’s incredible to hear how a 24-7 Prayer week can unite churches, bring comfort to the grieving, and impact the wider community. If you’re interested in running a week of prayer in a 24-7 Prayer Room, you can learn more here.
We created ‘How to run a 24-7 Prayer Room’ PDF guide with all you need to get started.
And you can discover more about the work of 24-7 Prayer Scotland and connect with their team here.
This interview is part of a video series where 24-7 Prayer’s national teams around the world share the ways God is meeting their communities in prayer, mission, and justice.
