Shadi, a house-church Christian in one of Iran’s major cities, was preparing for what she thought could be the last night of her life.*
As tensions escalated and threats of further bombardment loomed, fear began to settle in.
“I remember thinking—maybe this is the last time I’ll have gas, or electricity. The last time food will stay fresh in the refrigerator. So, I tried to cook the best meal I could with what I had.”
But that evening took an unexpected turn.
“Suddenly, I remembered how Jesus stood and prayed on the hardest night of His life—and asked His disciples to stay awake and pray. In that moment, I felt a strong urge in my heart to pray in His name for my country and for myself.”
What followed was not a change in circumstances, but something just as real.
“As I prayed, an incredible peace filled my heart. It was as if an inner voice was saying, ‘Do not be afraid. I am with you. I am protecting you, your home, and your family.’ That night became one of the most peaceful I had experienced in a long time.”
Shadi’s story is not unusual.
Across Iran, many believers testify that in moments of fear, uncertainty, and danger, prayer becomes their lifeline. “I want everyone who hears this to know,” Shadi says, “that prayer is the most powerful weapon we have in these days, especially in times of crisis and war.”

Many of us want to pray for people like Shadi. But often, we don’t know where to begin.
That’s why our friends at Elam Ministries have created the Iran 30 prayer app.
It’s designed to help you pray with clarity, compassion, and hope—guiding you through a simple 30-day journey, with daily prayer points, real stories, and insights into life inside Iran. You’ll be praying alongside believers like Shadi—lifting up real needs, in real time.
“I ask that you pray for us,” Shadi says. “Just as it is written in Ephesians—remain steadfast in prayer.”
