Meet the Community

St Peter’s Bourne is a residential prayer community who are committed to a rule of life centred around “pursuing God and learning to serve in mission together.” We are a community of around 22 people, who gather together for daily prayer, weekly shared meals, and every Friday morning for thanksgiving breakfast. As well as meeting together for Spiritual Formation, reflecting on and praying through how we might become more like Jesus.

We also operate as a house of prayer and worship for North London and beyond, and are open as a public 24-7 prayer room on weekday mornings, as well as being a place of retreat and pilgrimage for individuals and church staff teams to come and seek God.

Our Story

St Peter’s Bourne is a beautiful property in Barnet, North London that has a rich history as a house of prayer and mission.

Between 1948 – 1994 it served as a convent home for the Sisters of the Community of the Resurrection of our Lord (CoRL). After extensive renovations in the 2010s, an intentional Christian community was formed, gathering people from the local parishes.

In 2021 a new leadership team and community was established to further develop St Peters Bourne as a community, a house of prayer and a place of retreat.

We are a thriving community seeking the face of Jesus daily and interceding for North London and beyond.
