We’re based in Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. Our name is Evangelical Protestant Church Glasnost (or Glasnost for short). Our goal is to become people who know and love God and who are passionate about doing the things Jesus wants us to do. We want to be people of God’s Presence and bring that transformative power in our city. We are a group of 35 adults and 15 kids and our community includes people from different backgrounds all gathered around the common goal to support and care for each other on our journey of following Jesus. We are also passionate for God’s redemptive work around us. We do that by supporting a small pre-school in one of the largest Gypsy neighborhoods in Europe called Shutka. Children from extreme poverty come and spend a few hours each day learning, having fun and being cared for by the staff who are Christians. We are also partnering with the large feeding initiative for homeless people in our city by facilitating the cooking in our church.
We started around 15 years ago when the evangelical churches started to spread through our country. Our initial desire was to be a place where young people from the subcultures of Skopje will have a place where they can explore life with Jesus without being asked to cut ties with their cultural background.
