Discovery Church Dunbar is a small 24-7 Prayer Community which gathers in the beauty of creation and in laughter around the table. All are welcome and all are included, those with faith and those with questions, there is always room…the Carpenter is ready to make a longer table.
Our community began in 2016 as an experimental church plant, when a few folks dared to step out and leave the shore with a ‘yes’ in response to the call of God to pioneer something fresh, creative and life-giving in Dunbar. In the intervening years we have become deeply rooted in our local community and the emergent wider outdoor church collective, with a particular contemplative approach to encountering God in the natural environment. This has emerged alongside organic expressions of activism and social justice in the lives of those in our small contemplative community, and more recently a pioneering emergence of community chaplaincy.
