At Huis van Gebed Haarlem, people have life-changing encounters with God.
God’s love connects us with the city, the church of Haarlem and each other. We encourage prayer in and for the city and for the people in it. We offer a place where people can come to rest, recover and heal.
Despite not feeling like “disciplined pray-ers,” Anne-Lise and Arjo founded the Huis van Gebed (House of Prayer) in Haarlem after both receiving separate, unexpected callings from God. Building on 30 years of local prayers, they currently host weekly prayer sessions and inter-church events.
Though currently small, their dream is to open a 24/7 welcoming space in the city center for coffee, conversation, and prayer. Supported by a growing team and advisory board, they emphasize that God only requires availability, offering people a peaceful place to rest, connect with Him, and find hope
