Coastal Roots is a community rooted in an ancient Cornish coastal parish. A place shaped by sea and Celtic Christian influence woven through centuries, we are learning to be followers of Jesus: captivated by him, aspiring to live his way of life together. Everyone has a place at the table; surfers, doubters, explorers, young and old-timers — there’s room for questions, room for doubt, and wide-open space for the remaking. Planted here, we love and serve our community, fight injustice, and share hospitality. Rooted in relationships and a shared journey, we learn together, carry one another, and point each other closer to Jesus.
Coastal Roots has its origins in the prayers of faith-filled pioneers and salt-hearted adventurers. In 2021, our community was re-potted: replanted into a new shape, a new name, and a renewed sense of values. We took what had been growing and gave it room to flourish differently. This re-potting helped us see that Prayer, Mission and Justice flowed through our DNA, bringing us into alignment with 24-7 Prayer, now our global family. We carry the roots of where we’ve come from, growing into who God is calling us to become, longing for Jesus to be ‘the talk of the town’.
