Arrival by public transport

The closest airport is Vienna International. To get into town you can jump on the Railjet one stop to Wien Hauptbanhof.

The Expedithalle can be reached by tram from the city center in 20 minutes and from the main train station/S-Bahn or from the nearest U1/U3 station in 10 minutes .

You’ll need to travel to Wien Hauptbanhof (Vienna Main Railway Station) before heading to Absberggasse where it is then a 5 minute walk.

How to get there:

U1 station Hauptbahnhof / S station Quartier Bevedere:
Tram line D in the direction of Absberggasse (to Absberggasse)

U1 station Reumannplatz:
Tram line 6 in the direction of Geiereckstraße (to Schrankenberggasse)
Tram line 11 in the direction of Kaiserebersdorf Zinnergasse (to Schrankenberggasse)
or a 10-minute walk to the Expedithalle

FAQs

How can I re-watch The Gathering 2023?

You can watch recorded sessions from The Gathering at https://gathering.24-7prayer.com/

What is The Gathering?

The Gathering is an annual event run by 24-7 Prayer that brings together people from across the international movement with a passion to revive the church and rewire the culture through non-stop night and day prayer, mission and justice. We’re going to Vienna for The Gathering’23: four incredible days of prayer, worship and teaching as we join from different countries to share together and seek God’s presence. The Gathering’23 will be an in-person event, but also live-streamed if you can’t join us in person.

How much is a ticket to The Gathering '23?

A full-price ticket to The Gathering is £150. If you buy your ticket before the 17th of May, you'll get the Super Early Bird rate of £110. If you book before the 17th of July, you'll get the Early Bird Rate of £130.

What is the Generosity Auction?

Every year at The Gathering, we host a legendary party, and as part of the fun, individuals and groups bid hundreds of pounds for homemade items. The funds we raise travel all around the world to support what God is doing. In the past, your generosity has paid rent for single mums, supported the growth of new 24-7 Prayer teams, sent the good news of Jesus where it’s needed most, and so much more. Every year, we bid on a different item, and this year’s theme is…SOCKS!

How can I get involved in the Generosity Auction?

There are three main ways you can get involved in the Generosity Auction. 1) If you're attending in-person, you can donate auction lots: this year the theme is socks. Give your socks - the more elaborate, the better - to registration and we'll add them to the auction lots to be auctioned off! 2) If you're attending in-person, you can bid on our auction lots and raise money for our incredible causes. Don’t forget to bring some cash and team up. 3) If you're attending online, you can stream the auction live. You won't be able to bid on specific items, but you can donate towards specific causes. Thank you for your generosity!

Are discounts or bursaries available?

Yes - there is a discounted ticket rate for students. A student ticket is £100, but if you buy your ticket before the 17th of May, you'll get the Student Super Early Bird rate of £70. If you book before the 17th of July, you'll get the Student Early Bird Rate of £85. If you would like information on available bursaries, contact events@24-7prayer.com.

What do I need to bring to registration?

When you buy a ticket, you'll be sent an 'Invoice' email - this is your ticket. Present the QR code in the email when you come to register.

Will The Gathering '23 have translation available?

Yes. The Gathering will be streamed online with Spanish translation. German translation will be available on-site.

Can I buy day tickets to The Gathering '23?

Yes. Day tickets are available for Friday and Saturday. Click on 'Book now' and scroll down to find them.

Who is speaking at The Gathering '23 this year?

Click on the 'Contributors' tab to learn more about our speakers.

When does The Gathering '23 begin and finish?

The Gathering’23 will start on the evening of Thursday 26 October, and end on the lunchtime of Sunday 29 October (exact timings are to be confirmed and may be subject to change).

Where should I stay?

While we can't recommend specific places in Vienna, there are plenty of hotels around the Wien Mitte and AirBnBs in the wider area. The 24-7 Prayer team will be staying at the Prizeotel in Vienna.

Seminar Set One

Raising up a revival generation

Josh Green

Since attending the Asbury outpouring back in February, I’m more convinced than ever before that God is raising up a revival generation and stirring a hunger in young people. Come hear reflections from Asbury, thoughts on what God might be doing, and inspiring stories from the world of 24-7 Prayer youth.

Drawing closer to God

Christoph Neuwirth

The One who is already very close invites us to seek Him, to find Him and then to abide in Him. But how do you seek Him? In this seminar we will draw on wisdom from a Catholic context to explore practical ways to draw closer to God as individuals and as communities.

How the spirit of worship transforms prayer

Aitor and Loida Fernandez, Maria Fagré

Jesus lived a life of prayer and worship. The Lord’s Prayer is in itself a song of praise, a poem of intercession, petition and exaltation.

In this seminar we will explore how prayer joined with praise can transform our encounter with Jesus and release a spirit of worship that transforms our communities in a practical way.

An introduction to the Order of the Mustard Seed

This seminar will be hosted by current members of the OMS

24-7 Prayer re-established the Order of the Mustard Seed (OMS) in 2005. It is an ecumenical religious order whose members commit to three simple vows: to be true to Christ, to be kind to people and to take the Gospel to the nations. Join us to learn more or ask questions.

An introduction to 24-7 Communities

Roger Ellis and friends

This session will briefly explore the unity and diversity of 24-7 Prayer Communities Networks and our intentionality around championing different models of community. We will hear practitioners of each shape outline their approach and invite conversation together around the strengths and weaknesses of each approach and their contribution to our movement.

15:45 - 16:45

Seminar Set Two

The heart of 24-7 Prayer: the what, why and how of Prayer Rooms

Alicia Chapman

In this session we’ll explore the heart and vision of 24-7 Prayer Rooms as well as hands-on, practical tips to help you run a great one! Whether you’ve never run a prayer room before, or you’re a prayer-room-pro keen to share your experience, come along to dive in together!

Purpose-driven leadership: keep the fire burning without burning out

Elisa Alberto

No matter if you are leading in a secular or Church context, God’s invitation is to learn to work with Him without burning yourself out. During this workshop we will look at refocusing around our purpose, managing the tension between working hard for God yet finishing the race towards ‘the prize for which God has called us’ (Phil 3:14).

Chaplain’s Key: Unlocking Mental Health through Listening

Jason Clark

Research shows one intervention with the greatest positive impact on mental health:

Talking to someone trained in listening.

In this seminar, we’ll unpack the chaplaincy movement the Holy Spirit is creating in the church – people trained to be on the front lines listening to those desperate for someone to talk to.

Our mission to schools, the call of the church to education

Franz Greisberger

The need for safe places in schools where pupils can reflect and pray has never been greater. This session will include inspiring stories and practical advice to help you ‘be the church’ in education.

Prayer on the Streets

Šárka Šimečková

We’ll be looking at how to effectively engage with people through prayer on the streets.

19:00 - 21:00 (Streamed, GMT +2)

Evoking a move of God amongst students throughout Europe

Sarah Breuel

Are you hungry for a move of God among students? Join us in this ‘’Revival Think Tank’’ to share and hear from like-minded leaders how God is at work among university campuses in our continent.

Seven lies that kill your passion

Luke Greenwood

So many ideas in secular culture are killing the passion and life of a generation. The gospel responds to this powerfully and can transform our perspective on life, identity, relationships and God. But how can we make the truth about Jesus accessible to people today?

Unity in the City: Catalysts for change in Peru

Helen and Andy Taylor

This seminar looks at the catalytic power of unity as the team from 24-7 Prayer Peru share openly about the challenges and opportunities of prayer and mission as they unite the local church in Cusco, Peru. Discover how we can be catalysts for unity in our own towns and cities.

Keeping mission at the heart of our communities

Alain Emerson

The 24-7 Prayer core values are prayer, mission and justice. We’ve always had an impulse to carry our prayers out of the prayer-room and into the streets, and as we mature as a movement it’s vital we continue to beat with this heart. Let’s learn together how we can practically ensure we keep mission at the heart of our churches and communities.

Can we talk about justice without talking about porn?

Maria Fagré, Christian Edlund and Peter Stenmark

How does porn affect our relationships – to each other, ourselves and God? How is porn connected to sexual violence, prostitution and trafficking? How do we lift these questions in church? And how do we help people get free from porn addiction?

15:45 - 16:45

Seminar Set Four

Curating Spiritual Gifts: Lessons from 1 Corinthians

Dr Lucy Peppiatt

Along with Paul’s exhortation to “eagerly desire” spiritual gifts, he gives us his “safeguarding policy”—ways to ensure the gifts will not be abused in the hands of a few powerful leaders. In this seminar we explore Paul’s principles for the use of spiritual gifts and how this gives us a way of retaining the power of the gifts without the danger of manipulation and abuse.

Carrying His presence in crisis: lessons from the Türkiye earthquake

Mary Caldwell

We were made to bring the love, light, and presence of Jesus to people in their darkest moments, and we have courage knowing that Jesus is the answer to everyone’s deepest need. Come and hear how God made a way in Türkiye to meet needs and explore how we as believers can respond in crisis.

Anti-Racist Mission: Every tribe, every tongue, every nation

Natalie Stafford Williams and Asha Ellis

What does it look like to spread the gospel and see every tribe, tongue and nation come to true knowledge of Jesus as in Revelation 7:9-10? How do we address and repent of cultural and racial biases in order to build bridges and not walls? Explore these questions and more with the Unique & United UK team.

How to Build a House of Prayer

Jonathan and Esther Westerkamp

In our cities are we really rewiring the culture and reviving the church?

How can we build a non-stop praying community to aim for that goal?

Listen to the lessons the Rotterdam House of Prayer have learnt along the way: a story of obedience, perseverance, and God’s provision.

Mission Possible: Community transformation in an unpredictable world

World Vision

Join Daniel Muvengi and the World Vision team as they discuss the unexpected ingredient of community transformation in the world’s most vulnerable communities. What lessons can we learn from these examples of change that can help us bring transformation to our own local communities?

About

Catch-up recordings of Main Sessions are available on The Gathering website.

*How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: “How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!”

Romans 10:14-15 NIV

We are really excited to be heading back to the beautiful city of Vienna for The Gathering ’23. The 24-7 Prayer movement has spread throughout the globe, and so this opportunity to connect, learn from one another, and discern what God is doing in us and in the world is so vital and always so encouraging. This year, we’ll be returning to the theme of mission. What does it mean for us to be ‘those who bring good news’?

The 24-7 Prayer Gathering is a spiritual retreat packed with worship, prayer, teaching, and time spent together in the presence of God. Whether you’ve been joining us for years or you’ve never been to The Gathering before, you are so welcome to join us.

Why Vienna?

This will be the third time that we are gathering in Vienna. Each time we’ve been held a Gathering there in the past, it has marked a significant pivot point in the 24-7 Prayer story. We are full of expectation for what God will say to us this year.
