We facilitate holistic development through spiritual and economic transformation, providing opportunities for training/empowerment in both, simultaneously whenever possible.
We believe good development promotes viable economic sustainability, and a growing authentic faith in the living Christ. We’re involved in coaching, spiritual direction, prayer groups, teaching, preaching, mentoring, and one to one encouragement. We are informal and relationally oriented. We go adventuring with visitors, drink chai with locals, and wrestle with faith and following Jesus on a daily basis. We’re passionate about creation care and land regeneration, and we love hosting people in our home.
Byron and Lisa have spent 40+ years in cross-cultural service, initiating and nurturing faith communities. With extensive experience in practical and spiritual development in challenging locations, the Bordens believe the best “assistance” comes through relationships that empower and nurture the whole person. Having pursued many iterations of mission and justice work, Byron and Lisa love the metaphor of yeast that quietly and steadily impacts its environment. The Bordens are deeply inspired by 1 Thessalonians 2:8 “Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God but our lives as well.”
