In Spain, creatives from across Europe, Mexico, the USA and Argentina joined together at CREO Fest, to explore the power of prayer and creativity, with a tangible sense of the Spirit at work. In the morning, 40 people – mostly young adults – filled the room in attentive silence to listen to Lectio 365 – 24-7 Prayer’s daily devotional app – together, with one man in his fifties walking out visibly emotional, saying:
“I can’t believe this… a room full of young people praying together like this.”
Throughout the festival, worship, conversations, creative workshops and spontaneous moments of prayer flowed naturally together. Artists, musicians, filmmakers, entrepreneurs and worshippers from Spain, the UK, The Netherlands, France, Poland, Switzerland, Moldova, Mexico, the USA and Argentina shared moments of beauty, healing and encounter through worship, creative labs, conversations and a powerful art exhibition:
“The interactive installation became a place of healing for me. I arrived carrying anxiety and left feeling like God had gently met me there.” — CREO Fest Participant
In Scotland, our team joined with over 150 young Christians at a Catholic youth festival with 68 hours of non-stop prayer and worship focusing on adoration of Jesus. Scotland lead Rachel shares:
“The Holy Spirit moved amongst us and many people experienced new joy and freedom for the first time. Our prayer is that from this place, people will continue to fix their eyes on Jesus at home, in their communities and on the streets. We believe we are being invited to stand in the truth that above all else, the vision is Jesus.”
In the Netherlands our team ran 70 hours of non-stop prayer at a national Christian festival with 60,000 people, encouraging Churches to pursue a culture of prayer in their local context.
Netherlands lead Mark shares:
“A moment that deeply moved me was a man who rushed in and spent a long time at the foot of the cross, overwhelmed with emotion. Afterwards I asked what happened there, and with joy he explained his sister had just shared that she wanted to be baptised. He was so full of gratitude that he came from far away just to share his joy with Jesus in the prayer room
Another beautiful moment was at 3.30am, when four young guys walked past and stopped in their tracks, surprised to see people praying at that hour. One simple invitation was all it took for them to join us. They shared their longings for Jesus despite their lives being in a pretty rough place, so we set our agenda side to pray with them together, in the middle of the night.”
And that’s not all! In Sweden our team ran 24 hours of non-stop Pentecost prayer and worship as part of a non-stop year of prayer across the Nordic Region and in Austria our friends Loretto experienced 30 different Pentecost festivals across the nation with over 18,000 people seeking the power of the Holy Spirit!
“As for us, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” – Acts 4:20
