As part of this week of prayer, 24-7 Prayer ran an unbroken, 24-hour live prayer meeting.
The prayer meeting ran from East to West, beginning Wednesday 18 March at 7am New Zealand time (6pm GMT Tuesday 17th) and continuing for a full 24 hours. Each hour was a guided time of prayer, led by our National Leaders from around the globe as we pray for peace.
We organised this at short notice, and we were humbled to have thousands of people from 84 different nations joining the call in a beautiful symbol of unity and compassion.
At the end of the 24th hour, we closed this time with individuals from Iran, the USA, Lebanon, Ukraine, and Russia joining together to pray a Prayer for Peace. You can watch that here:

People who joined the call said:
It was an emotional experience, particularly the final hour. Hearing different languages brought a sense of togetherness and realism. I often feel overwhelmed with what’s happening in the world and joining in prayer with global Christians helped me feel I was helping a little.
Someone else shared:
I was blessed each time I logged on. I unfortunately slept through the Australian time but logged on and it was The Netherlands. So lovely to hear my home language. Later it was Ukraine and then Ireland. How wonderful to pray together. Thank you.

Have been craving a way to respond, and you provided. Privileged to have joined for four hours. I am so impressed with the global Body of Christ. Thank you!!!
As part of this week of prayer, our prayer app Lectio 365 featured a special day of prayer for peace. You can read or listen to the devotional here:
During the Global Week of 24-7 Prayer, we will continue to unite across geographic, national and denominational lines – gathering around the name of Jesus to pray for our world.
This week of prayer isn’t the end. We’re continuing to pray to see God’s Kingdom come on earth as it is in heaven.
