Week: One Anothers
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
What a friend we have in You, Jesus. We’re ready for the new things that You want to show us and say to us about being friends with You, and with others too.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:

Philippians 2:3
When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honour to others than to yourselves.
Philippians 2:3 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Today, we’re REFLECTING on how the writer of Hebrews encouraged the followers of Jesus to keep going even when things were difficult.

Hebrews 10:24-25a (NCV)
Hebrews 10:24-25
Let us think about each other and help each other to show love and do good deeds. You should not stay away from the church meetings, as some are doing, but you should meet together and encourage each other.
The book of Hebrews was written to Jews who had decided to become Christians – to become followers of Jesus Christ. Some of them were finding it difficult, and even costly, to follow Jesus’ teachings and His example, and so the writer urged these Christians to encourage each other.
That’s what good friends do, isn’t it? They encourage each other, especially when things are difficult. They help each other out, they show up for each other and show love to each other.
Some translations of this verse say things like, ‘spur one another on’ – it’s like we’re cheering someone on that’s running a hard race, encouraging them to keep going.
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: When have we cheered someone on? Perhaps it was at a sports event or a show or some other performance.
And now, we ASK God to help us and others.
Loving Jesus, we ASK You to help us be a good friend. We want to encourage other people – to show up and show love to those that might be finding it hard to follow You.
In today’s Bible reading, the writer says that some people stopped joining in with church meetings because they were finding it too difficult, or too costly, to follow Jesus.
Lord Jesus, we pray for those who feel like this today – for those who have left the church, and for those who are thinking about it. We ASK You to be with them – encourage them and show them just how much You love them.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
Hebrews 10:24-25
Hebrews 10:24-25a (NCV)
Let us think about each other and help each other to show love and do good deeds. You should not stay away from the church meetings, as some are doing, but you should meet together and encourage each other.
What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Lord Jesus, we say YES to being a good friend like You – someone who encourages others, shows up for them when they need support, and shows love to them unconditionally.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Philippians 2:3
When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honour to others than to yourselves.
Philippians 2:3 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
