Week: One Anothers
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
As usual, we start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
What a friend we have in You, Jesus. We’re ready for the new things that You want to show us and say to us about being friends with You, and with others too.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:
Read by Elanor
1 Peter 4:10
Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace.
1 Peter 4:10 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Today we are REFLECTING on some verses from Paul’s letter to the church in Philippi, where he urges them, and us, to be more like Jesus.

Philippians 3:2-5 (NCV)
Philippians 3:2-5
When you do things, do not let selfishness or pride be your guide. Instead, be humble and give more honor to others than to yourselves. Do not be interested only in your own life, but be interested in the lives of others. In your lives you must think and act like Christ Jesus.
A good guide is always helpful – they can show us the right way to go or the best ways to act. However, if we choose the wrong guide, we can end up in all sorts of trouble!
In this passage, Paul warns us not to be guided by selfishness or pride, which means believing or acting like we’re better or more important than other people. Instead, Paul encourages us to be guided by Jesus – to think and act like Him.
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: What different kinds of guides can we think of who can help us to find our way?
In John’s Gospel, Jesus describes himself as the best guide – He says, ‘I am the way, and the truth, and the life.’ (John 14:6) Let’s use these words as we pray now.
Jesus, You are the Way – we ASK You to show us the best ways to love other people.
Jesus, You are the Truth – help us to trust what You say as you guide us each day.
And Jesus, You are the Life – thank you that You give us life, an incredible, adventurous life!
In today’s passage, Paul warns us not to be guided by selfishness and pride, so let’s pray for less of this in the world, and for lots more love and kindness instead.
Loving God, as we think about the people in our schools and our local communities, and as we think about the politicians who lead our nations too, we ASK that there would be less selfishness and pride and more love and kindness instead. Help us all to be more like Jesus.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
Philippians 3:2-5
Philippians 3:2-5 (NCV)

What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
YES Jesus, You really are the way, the truth and the life – You are the best guide, and we will follow You!
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
1 Peter 4:10
Each of you has received a gift to use to serve others. Be good servants of God’s various gifts of grace.
1 Peter 4:10 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
