Week: Mark's Gospel
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
Jesus, we hear Your invitation, and so we choose to follow You, with all our hearts, with all our minds, with all our souls and with all our strength.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:

Psalm 103:8
The Lord shows mercy and is kind. He does not become angry quickly, and he has great love.
Psalm 103:8 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Jesus and the disciples had travelled across the Sea of Galilee and as soon as they got out of the boat, people recognised them.

Mark 6:55-56
Mark 6:55-56 (NCV)
They ran everywhere in that area and began to bring sick people on mats wherever they heard he was. And everywhere [Jesus] went – into towns, cities, or countryside – the people brought the sick to the marketplaces. They begged him to let them touch just the edge of his coat, and all who touched it were healed.
The news about Jesus travelled fast, and everywhere He went people brought those who were sick to Him, because they knew that Jesus could heal. Even those who simply touched the edge of Jesus’ cloak were healed! Isn’t that amazing!
Sometimes it’s our bodies or minds that need healing, because we’re sick or in pain. And sometimes it’s our hearts that need healing, because we feel hurt on the inside. The wonderful thing is that Jesus cares about it all, even the small things that we think don’t matter.
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: What different kinds of people help us feel better, on the outside and the inside?
Where do we need healing, whether that’s on the outside or on the inside?
Jesus our Healer, we ASK You to heal us, wherever we’re hurting right now.
Let’s remember the people we talked about just now – those who help us feel better.
Lord Jesus, we ASK You to strengthen and encourage those who care for our bodies and our hearts – doctors, parents and carers, friends, and others too.
Is there someone who we can care for today?
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
Mark 6:55-56
Mark 6:55-56 (NCV)

They begged him to let them touch just the edge of his coat, and all who touched it were healed.
What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Jesus, You are our Healer. We say YES to trusting that You want to heal us, inside and out.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Psalm 103:8
The Lord shows mercy and is kind. He does not become angry quickly, and he has great love.
Psalm 103:8 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
