Week: Mark's Gospel
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
Jesus, we hear You inviting us, and so we choose to follow You, with all our hearts, with all our minds, with all our souls and with all our strength.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:
Read by Jackson J
Psalm 107:1
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures for ever.
Psalm 107:1 (NIV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
In today’s Bible passage, we meet Judas. We’re REFLECTING on the important part he played in the final days of Jesus’ life.

Mark 14:10-11
One of the twelve apostles, Judas Iscariot, went to talk to the leading priests to offer to hand Jesus over to them. These priests were pleased about this and promised to pay Judas money. So he watched for the best time to turn Jesus in.
Mark 14:10-11 (NCV)
Judas had been one of Jesus’ closest friends – he’d travelled with Jesus, watched Him do miracles, listened to His teaching, he’d eaten meals with Jesus – but even after all of this Judas still turned against Jesus.
It must’ve been really hard for Jesus – for someone that He loved and trusted and had been with for three years to hurt Him like that. Sometimes we forget that Jesus was a human being and He felt human feelings, just like us. (Hebrews 4:14-15)
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: Who are the friends we really trust? When was the last time they were there for us?
Maybe we’ve experienced something like Jesus did. Maybe one of our friends has let us down recently, or even turned against us.
Jesus, it’s good to know that You understand how we feel. As we offer how we feel to You, we ASK You to help us to choose love and forgiveness, just like You did.
In today’s Bible reading, the priests gave Judas some money for betraying Jesus. It seems that money was worth more to Judas than His friendship with Jesus.
Loving God, we know how easy it is for people to become greedy for money instead of caring for other people. We ASK You to change the hearts of those who have made money more important than people.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.

What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Lord Jesus, we thank you for showing us what true friendship looks like. We say YES to being your friend, and to being a faithful, forgiving friend like You.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Psalm 107:1
Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good;
his love endures for ever.
Psalm 107:1 (NIV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
