Week: Mission
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.

God of rescue and restoration, thank You for Your beautiful mission to save the whole world. Here we are, Lord. Fill us with Your Spirit, and send us so that we can join in with Your mission.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:

Matthew 24:14
The Good News about God’s kingdom will be preached in all the world, to every nation. Then the end will come.
Matthew 24:14 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Today, we’re continuing to REFLECT on God’s mission – God’s Great Plan – and what the Psalms say about how God wants us to join in.

Psalm 9:1-2
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart.
I will tell of all the miracles you have done.
I will be happy because of you;
God Most High, I will sing praises to your name.
Psalm 9:1-2 (NCV)
Today’s Psalm is another one of David’s, and he seems desperate to tell people the good news about God’s miracles – the impossible things that God has done for him.
Sometimes when people tell us their good news – like they’ve been chosen for a sports team, or they’re moving house, or they’re having a baby – they ask us not to tell anyone yet. Has that ever happened to us? It’s really hard, isn’t it? When we’ve got good news, even other people’s good news, we’re usually desperate to tell other people, just like David.
Well, God wants us to tell people His Good News, which is that He loves everyone, and that we can all be part of His family because of Jesus.
David says that He is happy because of God. Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: What has made us happy this week?
And now, let’s ASK God to help us and others.
Lord Jesus, You promised that the Holy Spirit would give us boldness to tell other people about You, and so we ASK You to fill us with the Holy Spirit. And we ASK You to give us an opportunity to talk with someone about You this week, even if it’s something as simple as ‘God loves you’.
David says that he will tell everyone about the miracles – the impossible things – that God has done. Who do we know that really needs God to do a miracle in their life?
Lord God, we know that You can do things that seem impossible, and so we ASK You to work miracles in the lives of those who need Your help today. And as they wait patiently, we also ASK You to comfort them and give them strength.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
Psalm 9:1-2
I will praise you, Lord, with all my heart.
I will tell of all the miracles you have done.
I will be happy because of you;
God Most High, I will sing praises to your name.
Psalm 9:1-2 (NCV)
What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Loving God, like David, we praise You with all our hearts because You are awesome, and because of Your great love for us. We say YES to telling others the Good News about Jesus, especially those who don’t yet know You.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Matthew 24:14
The Good News about God’s kingdom will be preached in all the world, to every nation. Then the end will come.
Matthew 24:14 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
