Week: Learning
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.

Holy Spirit, You are the best teacher. As we explore the Bible and listen to You, please help us to understand more about You, and draw closer to You.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:
Read by Max
Psalm 25:5
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
Psalm 25:5 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
In today’s Psalm, we’re REFLECTING on what David says about God’s Word.

Psalm 19:7-8
The teachings of the Lord are perfect;
they give new strength.
The rules of the Lord can be trusted;
they make plain people wise.
The orders of the Lord are right;
they make people happy.
The commands of the Lord are pure;
they light up the way.
Psalm 19:7-8 (NCV)
If we’re online and we’re trying to choose a new book to buy, it’s usually a good idea to read reviews from people who have already read them, because these can help us decide which books are going to be good, and which ones aren’t.
Today’s Psalm is like David’s review of the Bible, and he seems to really like it! Here’s some of the things that he says about God’s Word; it’s perfect, it gives strength, it can be trusted, it makes us wise, it is right, it makes us happy, it is pure and it lights up the way. It sounds incredible, doesn’t it!
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: When did we read something just because someone else recommended it? What did we think?
Although we might really like the Bible, there are probably some parts that we find a bit difficult to understand, and maybe we have questions about some parts too.
Lord God, we know that You don’t mind us asking questions. In fact, it’s the best way for us to learn. We ASK You to continue teaching us, showing us new things, helping us to know You and trust You.
As we think of all the different people who we learn from – teachers and people at church, family members and friends – let’s choose just one of them and pray for them.
Holy Spirit, we thank You for them and for all that they have helped us to learn. We also ASK You to help them to keep learning too – give them more wisdom and deeper understanding, especially about the Bible.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
Psalm 19:7-8
The teachings of the Lord are perfect;
they give new strength.
The rules of the Lord can be trusted;
they make plain people wise.
The orders of the Lord are right;
they make people happy.
The commands of the Lord are pure;
they light up the way.
Psalm 19:7-8 (NCV)
What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Holy Spirit, using words from this week’s memory verse, we say YES, we want You to lead us and teach us. As we read the Bible, help us understand what we’re reading and how to make it part of our lives.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Psalm 25:5
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
Psalm 25:5 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
