Week: Hospitality
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
God of hospitality, thank You for inviting us into Your family. As we sit at Your table and taste Your words to us, may they give us all the strength we need.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:
Read by Jackson J
Matthew 25:35
[Jesus said] ‘I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was alone and away from home, and you invited me into your house.’
Matthew 25:35 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Today, for one last time, we will be REFLECTING on Psalm 91. After inviting us to trust God and make our home in God, the writer finishes with some amazing promises.

Psalm 91:14-16
The Lord says, ‘Whoever loves me, I will save.
I will protect those who know me.
They will call to me, and I will answer them.
I will be with them in trouble;
I will rescue them and honor them.
I will give them a long, full life,
and they will see how I can save.’
Psalm 91:14-16 (NCV)
If we’ve ever been to a wedding, we might remember the bit in the middle when the bride and groom make promises, or vows, to each other. The final verses of today’s Psalm sound like God’s promises – His vows – to us.
As we slowly read through them again, one by one, let’s imagine God standing in front of us, saying them to each of us, personally. God says…
‘I will save you.’
‘I will protect you.’
‘I will answer you when you call to me.’
‘I will be with you when you are in trouble.’
‘I will rescue you.’
‘I will honour you.’
‘I will give you a long, full life.’
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: Which of these promises did we really need to hear God speaking to us today?
And now let’s ASK God to help us and others…
Father God, thank you that You always keep Your promises, every single one of them. As we hear You speaking those promises to us right now, all we can say in response is, thank you, and we love You.
The writer of today’s Psalm says that God will be with those who are in trouble’. Let’s think of those who feel like they are in trouble today; those who don’t have enough money, those who aren’t doing well at school or University, those who are sick at home or in hospital, or any others.
Loving God, we ASK You to fulfil your promise to be with those who are in trouble’. We pray that Your presence with them will change things for them.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
Psalm 91:14-16
The Lord says, ‘Whoever loves me, I will save.
I will protect those who know me.
They will call to me, and I will answer them.
I will be with them in trouble;
I will rescue them and honor them.
I will give them a long, full life,
and they will see how I can save.’
Psalm 91:14-16 (NCV)
What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Father God, we are overwhelmed by your incredible love and kindness towards us. We could never give back even a tiny fraction of what you’ve given to us. However, we say YES, we will love You with all our hearts, our souls, our minds and our strength. We will!
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Matthew 25:35
[Jesus said] ‘I was hungry, and you gave me food. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was alone and away from home, and you invited me into your house.’
Matthew 25:35 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
