Week: Learning
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
Holy Spirit, You are the best teacher. As we explore the Bible and listen to You, please help us to understand more about You, and draw closer to You.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:

Psalm 25:5
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
Psalm 25:5 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Last week we read the shortest Psalm in the Bible, but for most of this week we’ll be REFLECTING on verses from the longest, Psalm 119.

Psalm 119:1-3
Happy are those who live pure lives,
who follow the Lord’s teachings.
Happy are those who keep his rules,
who try to obey him with their whole heart.
They don’t do what is wrong;
they follow his ways.
Psalm 119:1-3 (NCV)
When we go on long journeys or big adventures, it’s important to use a Sat Nav or a map app on our phone, even a real map, or at least to ask for directions. Without them, we’d probably get lost.
The Bible is a bit like a map that helps us follow the way that God wants us to live. The Holy Spirit can use what we read in the Bible to guide us in the right direction.
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: When can we remember getting really lost? How did we get to where we needed to go in the end?
And now, let’s ASK God to help us and others.
Father God, as we learn more about You and Your ways through reading the Bible, we ASK You to guide us by Your Holy Spirit. We look forward to going on adventures with You!
Let’s think of someone we know who has a big decision to make. Maybe they feel like they’re at a crossroads and they don’t know which way to go.
Holy Spirit, we ASK You to guide them, to show them the way. We ASK You to help them make the right decision. (John 16:13)
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
Psalm 119:1-3
Happy are those who live pure lives,
who follow the Lord’s teachings.
Happy are those who keep his rules,
who try to obey him with their whole heart.
They don’t do what is wrong;
they follow his ways.
Psalm 119:1-3 (NCV)
What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Father God, we say YES to Your Word, the Bible, being the map for our lives. And we say YES to trusting the Holy Spirit to be our guide.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Psalm 25:5
Lead me by your truth and teach me, for you are the God who saves me. All day long I put my hope in you.
Psalm 25:5 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
