Week: Me and Myself
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
Jesus, You came to bring peace and healing, and because of You we can now be reconciled with God, with ourselves, with other people and with the whole world. We’re ready for You to restore our relationships a little bit more today.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:

Psalm 139:14
I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way.
What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well.
Psalm 139:14 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Today we’re REFLECTING on what God said to Moses when he talked to him from inside a burning bush
Read by Elanor
Exodus 3:10-12
[God said] ‘So now I am sending you to the king of Egypt. Go! Bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt!’
But Moses said to God, ‘I am not a great man! How can I go to the king and lead the Israelites out of Egypt?’
God said, ‘I will be with you. This will be the proof that I am sending you: After you lead the people out of Egypt, all of you will worship me on this mountain.’
Exodus 3:10-12 (NCV)
Moses felt like he couldn’t do what God was asking him to do. Later on in the story, Moses tells God that he won’t be able to think of the right words to say to the people, and the people won’t listen to him. Moses felt insecure and afraid, and God simply said to him, ‘I will be with you.’
Instead of focusing on our insecurities and our fears, God invites us to focus on Him and the love that He has for us. Learning to love ourselves begins with learning that God is with us and loves us.
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: What is something we have to do that we are not feeling very confident about at the moment?
The things we just talked about might be big or small. We might not have to go speak to a king or leader of a nation, like Moses did, but let’s ASK God to help us with the things that we have to do.
Father God, we ASK You to help us remember that You are always with us. We ASK You to give us the courage to try hard things even when we don’t feel totally confident that we will succeed, knowing that You love us regardless of the outcome.
Loving God, we also pray for those, like Moses, whom You are asking to confront corrupt people in power who are oppressing others. We ASK You to strengthen them, help them and give them courage, be with them!
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
Exodus 3:10-12
So now I am sending you to the king of Egypt. Go! Bring my people, the Israelites, out of Egypt!”
But Moses said to God, “I am not a great man! How can I go to the king and lead the Israelites out of Egypt?”
God said, “I will be with you. This will be the proof that I am sending you: After you lead the people out of Egypt, all of you will worship me on this mountain.”
Exodus 3:10-12 (NCV)
What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Father God, we say YES to remembering that You are with us and that You love us. Give us courage to do what You say.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Psalm 139:14
I praise you because you made me in an amazing and wonderful way.
What you have done is wonderful. I know this very well.
Psalm 139:14 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
