Week: Jesus' Miracles
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
Jesus, we want to know You more and we want to better understand the way You want us to live. As we consider Your miracles, we prepare our hearts to follow You.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:

John 17:3
And this is eternal life: that people know you, the only true God, and that they know Jesus Christ, the One you sent.
John 17:3 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
One day, Jesus met a man who had been blind his whole life. Today, we’re REFLECTING on the strange thing that Jesus told him to do, and the incredible thing that happened when the man obeyed Jesus!

John 9:5-7
‘While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.’ After Jesus said this, he spit on the ground and made some mud with it and put the mud on the man’s eyes. Then he told the man, ‘Go and wash in the Pool of Siloam.’ So the man went, washed, and came back seeing.
John 9:5-7 (NCV)
Jesus healed people in all sorts of different ways. Sometimes He simply spoke to the person who was sick and sometimes he touched them. On at least one occasion a woman was healed by touching Jesus’ clothes, and on another occasion Jesus healed a deaf person by putting his fingers in their ears. And in today’s Bible passage, Jesus spat on the ground to make some mud and wiped it on the blind man’s eyes, and then told him to wash it off. When he did this, he was healed too!
No-one really knows why Jesus did such different things to heal people, but maybe it was Jesus’ way of showing us that there isn’t a special technique for healing people. Jesus simply had compassion for people – He loved them – and He trusted in God’s power to heal them. Maybe that’s all He wants from us too. Amazing!
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: What is the most amazing thing we have seen, heard, or experienced recently?
And now, let’s ASK God to help us and others.
Lord Jesus, we want to follow Your example. We ASK You to fill us with love and compassion for people, and help us to trust in God’s power to heal people too.
At the start of today’s Bible passage, we read that Jesus described Himself as the ‘light of the world’. On another occasion, He said that we, his followers, are also ‘the light of the world.’ (Matthew 5:14) Jesus wants us to shine this light wherever we are, whoever we’re with.
Lord Jesus, we ASK You to fill us with Your Holy Spirit – fill us Your light and life and love, and help us to share it with others this weekend.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Lord Jesus, thank you for all the incredible miracles You did – making deaf people hear and blind people see, walking on stormy waves and feeding huge crowds. We say YES to being filled with God’s love and compassion, and trusting in God’s power, so that we see miracles too.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
John 17:3
And this is eternal life: that people know you, the only true God, and that they know Jesus Christ, the One you sent.
John 17:3 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
