Week: Jesus' Miracles
As usual, each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
Jesus, we want to know You more and we want to better understand the way You want us to live. As we consider Your miracles, we prepare our hearts to follow You.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:

John 17:3
And this is eternal life: that people know you, the only true God, and that they know Jesus Christ, the One you sent.
John 17:3 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Jesus’ disciples were in a boat one night, rowing across Lake Galilee, when a storm began to stir. Today, we’re REFLECTING on what happened next.

John 6:18-21
By now a strong wind was blowing, and the waves on the lake were getting bigger. When they had rowed the boat about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the water, coming toward the boat. The followers were afraid, but Jesus said to them, ‘It is I. Do not be afraid.’ Then they were glad to take him into the boat. At once the boat came to land at the place where they wanted to go.
John 6:18-21 (NCV)
Jesus’ disciples were terrified! It was scary enough being in a small boat out on the big sea in the middle of an even bigger storm, but then a ghostly figure appeared walking on top of the water! It wasn’t until Jesus called to them, ‘It’s me, don’t be scared!’ that their feelings began to change.
Everything changed for the disciples when they realised that Jesus was with them. And it’s the same for us too. Everything changes when we realise that Jesus is with us, because He rescues us and brings peace.
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: How do we think it would feel to walk on water? Would we like to do it?
And now, let’s ASK God to help us and others.
Lord Jesus, we ASK You to help us to trust in You, and remember that you are always with us through your Holy Spirit, even when we are afraid.
Let’s think about someone we know who might be feeling like they are in the middle of a storm right now. Maybe they feel scared because of something happening at school or at home.
Lord Jesus, we ASK that You comfort them with Your presence. Rescue them from trouble and bring them peace.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
John 6:18-21

What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Lord God, we say YES to coming to You in prayer, especially when we are afraid. You have the power to rescue us from trouble and bring us peace.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
John 17:3
And this is eternal life: that people know you, the only true God, and that they know Jesus Christ, the One you sent.
John 17:3 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
