With photos unearthed from old boxes, maps charting the spread of prayer rooms around the world, videos and voicenotes marking key moments – this timeline tells the story of our movement.
A prayer room in Chichester has somehow spread over six continents! In the last 25 years, we’ve seen God invite people to all-night prayer vigils, send them out of their home nation to share the good news, mobilise a tide of prayer in schools all over the world. He’s shown up in caravans, buses, back rooms, nightclubs, churches, parks, and the street, and he’s inspired apps, books, courses and resources along the way.
And yet, we’re just getting going.
But even as we look ahead to what God might be calling us into next, we want to celebrate all that he’s already done. When you look at it, spelled out in black and white on this timeline, it is humbling. We are so grateful for all he has done in us and through us – and all of the thousand times people in this prayer movement have said “yes” to his call.
Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
