Week: Worship
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause

Father God, thank You that as we draw close to You, You promise to draw close to us. We need You today. Our hearts are ready. Help us to hear Your voice.

We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:
Read by Kumi
Luke 4:8
It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’
Luke 4:8b (NIV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.

Yesterday we learned that even the earth worships God. Today we’re REFLECTING on some verses which tell us that the angels are also always worshipping!
Read by Kumi
Revelation 5:11-12
Then I looked, and I heard the voices of many angels around the throne, and the four living creatures, and the elders. There were thousands and thousands of angels, saying in a loud voice: ‘The Lamb who was killed is worthy to receive power, wealth, wisdom, and strength, honor, glory, and praise!”
Revelation 5:11-12 (NCV)
We often think that when we begin to sing, we are the ones starting the worship. But the truth is, we’re joining in with invisible worshipping that’s always happening – we’re joining in with angels! So anytime, day or night, if we want to tell Jesus how wonderful he is we can just remember that we’ve got the biggest choir in the universe singing along with us. Even though we can’t see them with our eyes, it can be really encouraging to know that we are never worshipping on our own. The worship never stops, we just join in.
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: What’s our favourite worship song or hymn at the moment? Why do we like it?

And now, let’s ASK God to give us faith for what we cannot see.
Father God, we ASK You to grow in us hearts of worship. Help us to be like the angels, forever praising You through our lives and through our lips, wherever we are and whatever we do.
Let’s think of someone we know who leads us in sung worship in our churches or children’s groups.
Father God, we pray today for those who lead us into your presence in worship. We ask that you would encourage them that we don’t worship alone but that the angels join them as they praise You.

As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.
What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?

And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Creator God, we choose to worship you today and we join with the angels in Heaven in saying; ‘God, You are worth every bit of our praise’! We say YES to You today, in everything that we do. We worship You, Jesus, and give our lives to You.

After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Luke 4:8
It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’
Luke 4:8b (NIV)

Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
