       SOUNDCHECK 2006

The SPEAK Network, close friends of 24-7 Prayer, will be holding Soundcheck, their annual national gathering, in London from 24th-26th of February. The gathering will be followed by a  Day of Action in the city centre on the 27th.

SPEAK is a Network inspiring young people to campaign and pray about issues of global justice. "Through bringing change to situations of injustice we aim to share our faith in our creator: God." Here are a few of the issues that SPEAK has addressed by organizing prayer and campaign efforts:
  • Giving the poor affordable access to life saving medicines
  • Environmental concerns.
  • Trade justice/workers rights
  • child sex trade
  • the arms trade

More than a conference, Soundcheck is a place to find out more about how justice relates to our faith and a spring-board to year round action. The gathering is for anyone interested in living out our Biblical calling to care for the poor, by getting involved in campaigning on global issues such as trade justice and the arms trade. On the following Day of Action we will join together in a prophetic symbolic campaigning action in the heart of London before meeting with MPs at Parliament to discuss SPEAK’s current Big Dress Campaign on Corporate Social Responsibility, in partnership with the CORE Coalition.
