15 Things You Didn't Know about 24-7USA
Published: May 19th, 2005
Things are snowballing for 24-7USA with an exciting vision for American students and cities emerging. America is now the country with the 2nd largest number of 24-7 Prayer Rooms (after UK) and an office is being established in Kansas City to serve all the prayer rooms and of course to catalyse mission, ministry to the poor and Boiler Rooms.
"There's so much to report," writes David Blackwell (below) the 25-year-old guy who is now leading 24-7USA, "that for now I'll just have to give you 15 bullet points..."

- There've been 24-7 Prayer Rooms in 45 of the 50 states of America without even an office to support and connect them all! Now we're getting ourselves together it's really gonna go crazy...
- A number of cities are looking at doing entire years of 24-7 prayer, starting here in Kansas City where the churches have now been praying non-stop since last September!
- Last week we had a major consultation with 12 leaders coming together from all over America to discuss the structure and strategy for 24-7USA. It was a very good time. God really showed up in one of the prayer times... The photo (left) shows two of the people who came - the inimitable Kenny Mitchell from New York City dining with Roger Nix, Senior Pastor of Believers Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
- Last week Pete and Samie Greig's youngest son Daniel (left) accidentally pee'd on one of the computers in the office and we think its broken...
- 'Red Moon Rising' is selling faster in America now than when it first came out 18 months ago. A couple of Bible Colleges have even made it a text book! We just heard that some churches are putting their entire congregations through Pete Greig's other book 'The Vision & The Vow'.
- In July a brilliant administrator called Wendy Andrews is moving here from Wisconsin to help us set up the office. She was called by God supernaturally in a series of dreams so God obviously knew we needed help! We also have the lovely Steph Carter (left) from the UK helping.
- We are currently trying to work out the toughest youth culture mission field in America for our first 24-7mission teams. I have a few ideas, but any suggestions welcome...
- A Boiler Room is being established here in Kansas City by a team led by my good buddy Adam Cox (left).
- We now have a bank account and a few people have started to give us some regular money. If you want to join them let me know!
- We're busy applying for our 501(c)3 (charitable status).
- We're already getting applications for the 24-7Transit Course here & in England next year.
- We are beginning to plan a 24-7USA website (nice as this one is...)
- I was recently invited to go see the Episcopal Bishop of West Missouri, the Rt Rev. Barry Howe (left), with Pete Greig.
- Our church here - Metro Christian Fellowship - started praying 24-7 planning to go for a month and just completed their 3rd unbroken month of prayer!
- We just finished editing the 24-7Prayer Manual into American (!) and it's gonna be coming out here in the States in January.
