Week: Learning & Wisdom
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
Lord God, we look forward to discovering more of Your wisdom in the Old Testament. Show us the way You want us to live, and help us to walk in Your ways today.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:

James 1:5
But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous to everyone and will give you wisdom without criticising you.
James 1:5 (NCV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Today, we’re REFLECTING on a really well-known verse from the book of Proverbs…

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart;
do not depend on your own understanding.
Seek his will in all you do,
and he will show you which path to take.
Proverbs 3:5-6 (NLT)
Wisdom isn’t just about learning what’s right or following a set of rules – it’s firstly about getting to know God so that we know His heart. The more we discover about God’s heart for us, we learn that we really can trust Him. Trusting that God knows what’s best for us and the world around us… that’s the wisest decision we can ever make!
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: What’s one really good piece of wisdom or advice we’ve been given?
Sometimes we try to figure everything out for ourselves, instead of asking God for wisdom and trusting that He’ll give it to us.
Lord God, We want to trust Your way for our lives. As we try to trust You wholeheartedly, we want to discover more of Your heart for us and for the world around us.
Let’s think of a problem in our area that needs some wisdom – it might be as big as how to solve homelessness, or maybe it’s something personal, like a problem in our school.
Loving God, You long to put things right in our world. We ASK that You would help those who are trying to solve the problems around us – give them Your wisdom to know what to do.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.

What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Loving God, thank You for the wisdom that we’ve heard from Your Word today. We say YES to walking the way that You want us to. We say YES to trusting You with our whole hearts so that we can follow You with our whole lives.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
James 1:5
But if any of you needs wisdom, you should ask God for it. He is generous to everyone and will give you wisdom without criticising you.
James 1:5 (NCV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
