Week: Worship
Each day we will simply pray (P.R.A.Y.) together.
P: PAUSING to be still.
R: REJOICING with a Memory Verse and REFLECTING on some verses from the Bible.
A: ASKING God to help us and others.
Y: saying YES to God’s ways.
We start by pausing and taking a deep breath:
In and out.
In and out.
We remember that God is here, and so together we prepare ourselves to be with God.
Pause
Father God, thank You that as we draw close to You, You promise to draw close to us. We need You today. Our hearts are ready. Help us to hear Your voice.
We REJOICE and celebrate God’s goodness with this week’s memory verse:
Read by Kumi
Luke 4:8
It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’
Luke 4:8b (NIV)
God, help us to remember Your Word.
Today, we’re REFLECTING on a letter Paul wrote to the Church in Rome, where he explains that the everyday choices we make really do matter to God…

Romans 12:1-2
So brothers [and sisters], since God has shown us great mercy, I beg you to offer your lives as a living sacrifice to him. Your offering must be only for God and pleasing to him, which is the spiritual way for you to worship. Do not be shaped by this world; instead be changed within by a new way of thinking. Then you will be able to decide what God wants for you; you will know what is good and pleasing to him and what is perfect.
Romans 12:1-2 (NCV)
We learn today that true worship means giving our whole lives to God. That’s every bit of us! Our minds and what we think about, our words and what we say, our decisions and actions, our hearts and our hands. When we say to God – ‘take me and use me completely,’ we are giving Him the greatest worship. We’re saying ‘You are worth every bit of us, God!’
Let’s press pause and talk about today’s question, which is: What’s the best gift we’ve ever given to someone?
And now let’s ASK God to help us and others.
Lord Jesus, we want to worship you with everything we’ve got. We ASK you to help us to worship you with our hearts, our minds, our hands and all of our decisions and actions. We give you every part of our lives.
In today’s Bible reading, Paul encourages us to offer our lives as a living sacrifice to God. In some parts of the world, it’s not safe to follow Jesus.
Lord Jesus, we thank you for the people who follow you with everything they’ve got, even their own lives. We ASK You to be with Christians in dangerous places. Draw close to them and protect them, Lord.
As we read the Bible again, let’s listen for a word or a phrase that the Holy Spirit might want to say to us from today’s verses.

What word or phrase stood out from today’s Bible verses?
And now, let’s say YES to God together.
Loving God, we choose to worship you today! We say YES to giving every bit of ourselves for Your service. Take our hands, our hearts, our minds, and our words, and use us to bring Your love to the world.
After enjoying this time with God and each other, let’s say our memory verse together:
Luke 4:8
It is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God and serve him only.’
Luke 4:8b (NIV)
Let’s put a hand on our heart.
Father God, fill us with Your love. Help us to love You, and everything that You’ve made.
Let’s point to our eyes.
Lord Jesus, help us to see You, and to see others the way that You see them too.
Let’s point to our ears.
Holy Spirit, help us to hear You, and give us courage to do what You say.
