The first 24-7 Prayer Australia National Gathering was held on October 13th and 14th 2023 and what a time it was!
Over 700 people gathered in Melbourne to learn, pray and worship together at CrossCulture in the heart of the city. People came from across Australia and New Zealand, and even further afield including Uganda and Malaysia. This provided a picture of the theme “A Planting of the Lord” (Isa 61:3) as Christians from different demographics and traditions stood together, worshipping in the same room, encapsulating the growing unity that is a precursor to revival in the Church.
We shared inspiring experiences of how God has been working in and through prayer rooms across Victoria. We were also greatly encouraged by a testimony from Canberra, highlighting how a Pentecostal community and a Catholic community have crossed traditional lines to worship and serve in unity. We’re confident that these stories have heightened expectancy of what can happen in this nation.
Each of our guest speakers championed a call to extraordinary prayer. Mark Sayers highlighted the hidden heritage of prayer and revivals that have marked Australia’s history. Jon Tyson gave practical teaching on how to build a culture of prayer and live in Holy Spirit power in our communities. Rachel Hughes encouraged leaders who have faced major discouragement and a crisis of confidence. Finally, Pete Greig emphasised the pivotal nature of prayer in sparking national revival, and powerfully prophesied over the role and mission of both the Australian and New Zealand 24-7 Prayer teams.
The National Gathering closed with a sense that it was a significant marker of the new thing that God is unfolding in our time. We’re excited to be a part of the growing move of God in this country.
