25th April 2022
Since our previous statement on 21st March 2022, new information has been made available to the 24-7 Trustees regarding our former CEO Mike Andrea:
Firstly, on Friday 8th April we were granted access to the full investigator’s report (though redacted as to names), prepared by Loch Associates primarily for the Global Generation Church Trustees.
Secondly, we received several new complaints relating specifically to Mike Andrea’s leadership style and conduct within the 24-7 organisation.
Following a Board meeting thereafter and with HR and legal advice, we initiated a call with Mike Andrea. In that call, we set out these new complaints (though continuing to preserve anonymity), which led to Mike Andrea offering to resign from his employment with 24-7. We accepted his resignation with effect from 14th April 2022.
We held off announcing this until now for three reasons: firstly, to avoid distractions during the Easter season. Secondly, to allow for required legal paperwork and thirdly, because we wanted to spend time listening personally to some of those who’ve been most affected.
As part of our ongoing cultural review, a recruitment process will now begin to find a new CEO for the organisation. In the interim, Brian Heasley will continue to serve in this role. We would appreciate your prayers for God’s guidance throughout this important process.
As a Christian charity we believe in the possibility of redemption, restoration and healing for all parties involved. Maintaining close dialogue with the congregation of Global Generation Church we will together seek to support all those impacted as best we can.
Please pray for peace and recovery for all who have been deeply hurt.
Adrian Eagleson (Chair)
On behalf of the 24-7 Prayer International board of trustees
