We’re sending a team to ICELAND, to join in with a small group of Christians to serve at a music and party festival in the beautiful Westman Islands, just off the South Coast of Iceland.

*UPDATE, MAY 2018 - Applications from male team members are  especially welcome and needed because of the nature of this outreach. The team on the ground have found that conversations and responses from party-goers are much better, and safer, in mixed gender teams.*

Based in a Church on the island, the team will start with five days of non-stop prayer and time to get to know one another, followed by four days of practical outreach at the festival.

This year, for the very first time, we are running two outreach teams: a day team and night team.

If you have a heart for talking and engaging with people, love to pray and bring life to dark places - and are willing to get your hands dirty in the process – then this is the team for you!

What to expect

For seven years, 24-7 Prayer have been serving at a big (and a little crazy) Icelandic music and party festival in the beautiful Westman Islands, just off the South Coast of Iceland. We always start with 24-7 Prayer, before preparing ourselves for practical outreach at the festival.

This year, we want to run a night team and day team during the outreach:

The DAY team will continue the core work we have begun over the last 7 years- serving hungover campers at the festival with hot coffee in the late mornings and afternoons, having conversations and blessing people in whatever way God leads.

We simply serve coffee to bless people, but we are open to whatever opportunities we are provided to share our faith, as well as serving practically. We have established a presence at the festival now and people often come looking for us!

The NIGHT team will walk around the festival site between 12am and 6am looking out for those who are drunk, or people in trouble - and helping them out. The stewards at the festival are great but can only do so much - and help with only the most severe situations. We are there to provide practical help and friendship for people at their time of need, whether helping someone back to their tent, listening to someone who needs someone to open up, to or just to watch out for people who may be in danger.

*As we are pioneering the night team for the first time, we would especially welcome applications from people who may have had experience in street pastors or who have been part of 24-7 night outreach in places like Ibiza.*

PRAY – mission teams contain a strong element of focused prayer, which all team members will participate in. This is often 24-7.

PLAY – mission teams will celebrate the culture that they’re in, together, and what God is already doing within it. This could take the form of communal meals, activities or experiences.

OBEY – mission teams contain an element of sacrificial mission and outreach, serving local people in that place.

Our Mission Teams are an incredible and unique opportunity to serve in a local 24-7 Prayer community, and we're so excited to see what God will do through your trip!
