GET INVOLVED: Pray, Act, Bless, The NHS

With headlines such as “‘Staggering rise’ in mental health issues among NHS staff since Covid-19,” we invite you to join us, this June, at 24-7 Prayer GB as we Pray, Act and Bless the NHS staff across our nation.

Compassionate God, we thank you for the NHS.
We pray for all those who serve and care for the sick.
May they have space to process everything from the past year, knowing Your healing, protection and refreshment.
Help those who are struggling with mental ill-health, and provide them with Your peace.
May you give rest to those who are weary, power to those who are weak and hope even in the most difficult situations.

“She went away and did as Elijah had told her. So there was food every day for Elijah and for the woman and her family. For the jar of flour was not used up and the jug of oil did not run dry, in keeping with the word of the Lord spoken by Elijah.” 1 Kings 17: 15-16

Why not cook a meal or drop food vouchers round to someone you know who works in the NHS, and pray, as you act, that the father would provide for their needs?

Or try these other simple acts of kindness:

  • Treat someone to lunch, and pray that your love and attention reflects Jesus.
  • Send someone chocolates or flowers anonymously, and pray they can better understand how much God loves them.
  • Pay for their coffee, and bless them with joy.
  • Help out with shopping, and pray that they know the light yoke of Jesus.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Our words have amazing power to build others up, so why not write an encouragement card to someone you know who is fatigued and struggling with their mental health.
