With family members isolating, Christmas bubbles being restricted to three households, and Great Britain facing continued restrictions, Christmas looks different for many of us this year. But Advent is a season of hope, so this week we invite you to #PrayHope for families across the nation.
Add your 'Amen' as we share a prayer of hope for families, across Great Britain, this Advent.
Join us: Pray
Father, thank you that you are the God of hope. Thank you that your word promises that those who put their hope in you will renew their strength, and not grow weary. We thank you that we can trust your promises, because you are faithful.
We pray now for our families, for those that we are close to, and those that we might be a little distant from this Christmas, and we ask you for a fresh release of hope.
We pray for the individual circumstances each of our families are facing right now, whether it is financial struggle, unemployment, isolation, fear or anxiety. We ask that you give us strength and peace. Lord, we pray for miraculous provision where we need provision, miraculous peace where there is anxiety or fear, miraculous ability to hold on to your promises and to remember your goodness.
God, we ask you to help each of us to support one another, build each other up and encourage one another. Would children encourage and bless parents, would parents build up and support children. We pray for unity within our families, and that you would draw each family closer together, and closer to you.
Father, we lift to you, those who are feeling especially weary in this busy season. We pray that you would give them your perfect rest, restore their energy levels and renew them in you.
Finally, God, we pray that we would be a people of holy hope in this time, that each of our families would be like beacons of hope to those around us. We pray that you would bring joy where there is despair, peace where there is stress and worry, and hope where there is hopelessness.
