Student Prayer 2020 - 2 Oct 2020

Student mission is not on hold in Great Britain because of the Covid-19 pandemic. As a team at 24-7 Prayer GB we are expectant to see what God has in store for the students and university cities in our nation.

As students embark on their university journey. Now more than ever they are in need of prayer and support for physical, emotional and spiritual needs. Join us as we pray and bless students in this time.

Pray:

"Lord Jesus, we cry out to you on behalf of the students in our nation. Would you protect them from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. From the physical symptoms; the emotional impact as well as, the social and psychological effects.

God of grace, we pray for Christian students at university or college across Great Britain.

We pray that though students may feel weak in the face of isolation and loneliness, that they would know the promise of Christ's power that rests on them (2 Corinthians 12:9). Would they find a welcoming Church community in a new place. Through this, might they know your love and truth, so that they would become beacons of light in the darkness of the current climate. Bring something of your hope and peace into their homes and halls.

God of gentleness, we pray for students isolating. Bring a deep sense of calm into their hearts.

We pray for your protection over their minds as many face online classes, seeing the same four walls every day, isolated and apart from their families. God, calm the storm of worry and anxiety as it tries to rock them. Be an anchor to those feeling the impact of claustrophobia.

God of restoration, we pray for students struggling with their mental health.

We pray against depression, where healing is needed God, we invite you in and have faith in your promise that you are working to restore health and heal our wounds (Jeremiah 10:17). Restore hope in those facing the disappointment of dreams unmet, and the loss of friendships that never got to be. Teach our students to trust you God, and help them to learn to lament well.

God of perfect peace, we pray for those making difficult decisions on traveling, whether to and from university or travelling to new places for study abroad.

We pray that you would provide wisdom and guidance. Might they know true peace in their choices. We thank you God for your promise that when we walk with you we do not need to be afraid (John 14:27).

Finally, we pray; Lord God almighty, would you pour out your Holy Spirit over our university campuses’.

We pray for a fresh awakening in our student towns and cities. Pour out your perfect peace into the hearts of the students who are searching for answers in the midst of confusion and pain. Stir up a curiosity for you. Come Holy Spirit, bring comfort to those facing loss, hope to the disappointed, and faith into the hearts of all.

Amen. "

Share kindness:

  1. Managing food and shopping can be hard when you first leave home. This is even more of a challenge in current times. Why not wrap a comfort parcel filled with snacks and treats?
  2. Keeping negative thoughts a bay when you are away from family and in a new place, or stuck at home when you thought you were going on a new adventure, can be difficult. Write an encouraging note, and send it to a student to keep them positive.
  3. Whether working from home or on campus, coffee is a student essential. Why not gift a student a Coffee Card to bless them when work is getting full on.
