#Belfast19: The RoundupNatalie Stafford-Williams - 6 Nov 2019

Wondering what happened at our global conference?

Natalie is part of Emmaus Rd, one of our 24-7 Prayer communities based in the UK - here she shares her highlights.

I’m still coming to terms with how the Holy Spirit moved through #Belfast19. It was a phenomenal time, and a beautiful way to celebrate 20 years of 24-7 Prayer.

THE WORSHIP

It was so much fun to gather as a global 24-7 Prayer community to worship together.  During these times, I love to sit back, and take in my surroundings, so it was beautiful to see families worshipping together, adults and toddlers dancing and people praying for and embracing each other from different cultures and backgrounds. It was quite the scene.

I loved seeing “River of Life”, a song sung in our community, being brought to the conference; it was truly something special. And the song “Come On” was electric and really spoke to me in the season I’m in. These songs really became anthems for our time together as a global family.

THE TALKS & SEMINARS

When God wants to say something, He really will! I loved how Pastor Agu and Hannah Heather spoke from the same passage of scripture. Alain Emerson and Jarrod McKenna’s talks were especially challenging for me personally, but there was also an opportunity to learn something new - I loved Maxi Oettingen’s talk on Song of Songs and it really opened my eyes.

The seminar selection on Friday and Saturday was vast, and even though I wanted to attend many of them, I opted for Lucy Peppiatt’s insights into women in scripture,  and a special Q & A session with Pastor Agu.

THE PEOPLE

I had a late night every night because I stayed up just to be in the presence of others. I know that for 24-7 Prayer, community is hugely important so I’m glad that space was made for people to hang out and get to know each other. It’s one of the things that makes the conference really unique.

THE AUCTION

This is always my favourite aspect of the whole conference. I have never seen generosity displayed in the way that it is at a 24-7 auction. People joining together from different communities to put together what they had and raise money for some amazing projects and people. It was wonderful to hear the amounts of money being raised and seeing so many people blessed by kindness.

THE HANDOVER

The final session on Sunday was particularly special, with the announcement of Mike Andrea stepping up to take on the day-to-day running of  24-7 Prayer. It was such an honour to witness this handover. From Pete’s excitement in introducing Mike, to the washing of the feet, to the Greigs and the Andreas being surrounded in prayer and lives being spoken into; it was simply beautiful.

I’m so thankful to 24-7 Prayer for a beautiful weekend. Thank you for helping communities facilitate prayer for the last 20 years, and creating spaces for people around the world to come together and learn from each other.

Thank you for facilitating reconciliation between denominations and cultures in the church. God bless you all!

We'll be releasing the talks and seminar recordings from Belfast'19 very soon - watch this space!
