The last five years has seen an unprecedented tide of prayer sweeping from Africa to the ends of the earth through the Global Day of Prayer (GDOP). In 2005, Christians from all generations and backgrounds in 156 nations cried out to God for their nation and generation. It was undoubtedly the largest prayer meeting planet Earth has ever seen. In 2006, GDOP involved Christians from 199 nations and the 24-7 Prayer community was instrumental in many of those nations.
In 2007, I invite you to break that record and trust God for all 220 nations of the earth to be part of an unprecedented day of repentance and prayer. On 27 May 2007, as the sun rises across each time zone, you will be joining millions of other Christians responding to the challenging words of 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are call by my name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
Money is not the most powerful force in the world. Mass media cannot save a nation. We have an awesome God waiting to be called upon. He waiting for a generation who will stand and say “Here I am, send me.” He desires one body and one church asking Him to turn the tide of culture back to the most radical leader of all: Jesus. Millions will pray on the Global Day of Prayer 2007, I invite you to add your voice to their cry.
Even though it may seem so, this is not just a one day event. it does not all start and end with this single day of united prayer. From 17 to 26 May, radicals like yourself will be praying non-stop for ten days. This will be a prolonged period in which we can cry out to God for the transformation of our communities, our nations and our world.
And this wave of prayer does not stop there! For ninety Days after the Global Day of Prayer, starting on the 28th of May, praying Christians around the world will be challenged to become the answers to their prayers. This will be a time of mission and justice where we will seek to be Jesus in our communities by taking hope and love to the darkest corners of society.
An information CD is available, explaining the vision and with lots of helpful tools to help you to be part of this mighty move of God. On the 2006 Feedback video you will certainly see some familiar faces from the family. Visit the Global Day of Prayer website for more information and to register your participation.
C’mon! Let’s join God on the move.
