Buzz building for New Books

Published: September 12th, 2006

"Great news about Lord of the Ring and God on Mute!" (These are the forthcoming books from 24-7 by Phil Anderson and Pete Greig) writes Alex Field, Aquisition Editor at Regal Publishing in California.

"Our sales team came back from their selling conference raving about the 24-7 Books! Apparently, there was more discussion about Lord of the Ring, Zinzendorf and about his impact in Germany and around the world than about any other single book on our Winter list. I have to say, this was unexpected—I didn't think they would know about Zinzendorf—but it turned out very, very good! A couple of our sales guys who live on the East Coast of the U.S. had actually studied Zinzendorf and were able to wax eloquent on his life story—so the whole team is very excited about this book!"

Meanwhile, the author Brian McLaren (left), has written a glowing foreword to Pete Greig's new book God on Mute"This is a book of theological depth," writes Brian. "Pete draws from the Bible – not in a superficial proof-texty way, but reaching deeply and broadly into the Biblical texts, with a mature sensitivity to context. Not only that, but he draws deeply from his own circle of friends, and of course, he draws deeply from his own experience too... Honest and deep - these qualities would be wonderful enough, but this book is also skillfully written. Pete’s style reminds me of some of our best contemporary writers, like Don Miller and Annie Lamott. To have important things told with spark and flash, with a laugh and a tear and a wink, with irony and understatement and also great, naked, simple, open-eyed sincerity … reading doesn’t get much better than that."

God on Mute - Engaging the Silence of Unanswered Prayer by Pete Greig comes out on 8th March 2007
Lord of the Ring - A Journey in Search of Count Zinzendorf by Philip Anderson comes out 5th April 2007
