Mexico: Answering The Prayers of a Broken Hearted Mother

"There are far too many stories to share with you of all that Jesus is doing at the moment, but there’s one I can’t keep to myself…"

So begins the latest wonderful report from Kelly Green (left) in Boy's Town, Mexico - a center of prostitution and drug dealing where Kelly is seeking to establish a 24-7 Boiler Room.

"There's a girl in Boy's Town named Aidee who, it turns out, has a praying mother who was literally in a prayer meeting at the same moment we were visiting with Aidee in her room in June! Aidee desperately wanted to get back to Tampico to be with her family, but there seemed to be far too many obstacles to count, most of them in Aidee’s mind. I got word the night before I left for Tulsa that Aidee had been beaten badly by two men in Boys Town. I was unable to find her before I left town, and prayed that God would protect her.

"This morning I got a message from my friend who found Aidee. She said it was a great conversation, really God-inspired. "Keep praying for Aidee; she’s on a bus to Tampico right now. She’s going home." Even as I write this, Aidee is on a long bus journey to her mother’s house. I can’t imagine how tearful and happy that reunion will be. Her mom will be going to prayer meeting tonight, hopefully with her daughter in tow.

"God really is faithful, and not in a cliché, bumper-sticker-greeting-card sort of way either. He’s just really faithful. He’s faithful because He loves us. He’s faithful because He never forgets us, our names or our stories, or the prayers of our mothers; He just never forgets. He loves justice, and in the courtroom of the heavenlies I can see the accuser of the brethren, the enemy of Aidee’s soul in deep anguish and frustration over the verdict handed down today – the verdict that returns a child to her mother, and a precious soul to her Father’s love.

Thank you to all of you who whispered prayers for Aidee – God has heard them. I’ll keep you posted as I know more.

God bless you!

Kelly Green
