Travel Arrangements

This years 24-7 Eurogathering will be held in Frankfurt, Germany from 18th - 21st October.

Frankfurt is a German city on the banks of the river Main it's a large cosmpolitan city and seen as the  heart of Germany's financial world. Frankfurt has an excellent public transport system which makes travelling around the city easy.

The venue for the gathering is a large modern Youth Hostel located on the South bank of the river main. You can get exact directions on Google Maps. The full address of the venue is:

Registration for Aufstehen will open at 15:00 on Thursday18th October and the opening meeting will start at 20:00. Please plan to arrive early in the registration period before the meeting as there will be many people to welcome and register. The closing meeting will end around 13:00 on Sunday.

The city of Frankfurt gives it’s name to 2 airports:

Frankfurt Airport (3 letter code FRA) which is just 7 miles from the city and connected to the centre by an excellent public transport system and

Frankfurt Hahn  (3 letter code HHN) which is 75 miles from Frankfurt and a 1hr 45min journey by bus.

If travelling to Frankfurt Hahn please leave sufficient time to reach Frankfurt (and to get back to the airport for your return journey!)

By Rail

The German rail system has to be one of the very best in Europe and if booked far enough in advance relatively inexpensive. The central station (Hauptbahnhoff) is internationally connected. By Road

Frankfurt is a busy western city and navigating by car is difficult during peak times. For location details and directions use the google map.

Local Public Transport

The public transportation system of Frankfurt is easy to handle, secure and the trains run till late at night. For Ticket information, prices, group offers and specials please check out www.rmv.de

Directions to the hostel from the city centre using public transport.

  1. Leave the main railway station (Hauptbahnhof) through the main exit.
  2. On the right hand side you will find the bus station.
  3. Take bus 46 in the direction of "Mühlberg". This bus runs every 20 minutes from 5 am to 10.33 pm during the week.
  4. Get off at the bus stop "Frankensteiner Platz".
  5. From there go on foot approx. 40 m back to the entrance of the Youth Hostel.

On Saturdays the bus runs from 8.03 am to 10.33 pm every 30 minutes. On Sundays from 10.03 am to 10.33 pm every 30 minutes. If the bus doesn´t run we would then advise you to take the tram 16 in the direction of "Offenbach Stadtgrenze" to stop "Lokalbahnhof". The tram station is right in front of the main exit. It is approx. a 20-minute ride. In the Dreieichstraße go in a northerly direction to the river Main. Take a left turn into the street "Deutschherrnufer". After approx. 100 m, you will reach the Youth-Hostel, which is situated on the left hand.
