Australia: “This weekend hearts were melted as we humbled ourselves before God. We were in God’s Sanctuary. “
Australia: This has been the most fantastic, dynamic and spiritually enriching experience in the life of our corps in my time here. It's over but it's not the end, only the beginning. My prayer is that our corps will catch the flame and not let it be extinguished.
Papua New Guinea: “To prepare us for this wonderful week we asked our Cadet Council to… build us a Prayer Room… So the men went out on Saturday to cut down bamboo branches... On Tuesday they set about building walls for our little hut so that we could have privacy and seclusion as we prayed… spare tires came in handy… inner tubes [were] sliced into one-inch strips to use as cording or rope to tie around the branches and attach them to our little hut. Then to make the room very special, [we] braided a palm branch for the door and adorned the outside with hibiscus and other flowering plants.
On the inside we placed a small wooden cross, two woven mats to sit upon, a kerosene lantern and a Bible to help each of us focus. It isn’t much – but when we held our dedication ceremony – many of us had tears in our eyes as we contemplated this holy room as a place where we could escape from the pressures of life and spend time alone with God. For the cadets who live in such small cramped quarters (as many as six people living in two rooms) it will become a real place of refuge. Although our 24-7 week doesn’t begin for another few weeks, it has already been well used and bathed in the presence of the Holy Spirit. We feel especially blessed because the room is just beneath our bedroom window, and we are sure that as prayers are offered up and the blessings are coming down during those many hours – some of the glory just might spill over onto us!”
Australia: “I felt the power of God in this place”
Australia: “Rochester is a drought town and we badly need rain. As we begun praying on Friday evening the rain came and continued non-stop for the next 24 hours. 70 mm was recorded which is the most we have had in one time for many years.”
New Zealand: “My son Oliver has had two amazing things happen in the prayer room in the last two weeks. Last week he prayed for his broken toe there which was black and blue. When he later took off the binding tape the skin was completely normal and the pain gone! Yesterday, he had an amazing experience with God in the prayer room. He felt the power of God all over him like electricity for about 40 minutes, starting in his hands and moving down his arms into his body. God spoke to him that he would be used to wield the sword of the Spirit.”
New Zealand: “Dorothy was pregnant and had a cyst on her ovary. Just as we prayed the baby has been unharmed and the cyst dissolved. Thank you Lord!!”
Australia: “Our prayer room has now been operating for nearly 18 months and God has been so awesome in His continuous answers to prayer and many, many blessings! Our prayer room is a shop front that we rent and is operated by the combined churches in our community, which is situated in a very troubled neighbourhood… We have seen about 6 people come to faith this year and have had reports of a number of healings. We continue to marvel at the impact of the prayer room when the churches of our community come together in prayer!”
Northern Ireland: “On Saturday, as part of our week of prayer we went out onto the streets of Dromore and handed out tea, coffee and KitKats and offered to pray for people. This has been something we have been working towards for some time and it seemed like a great opportunity to launch it during 24-7. Little did we know (but God did) that because of our local bi election our political parties were all out canvassing and we had the privilege of praying for our DUP, UUP, Alliance, SDLP representatives within our local community. To top it off First Minister Dr Ian Paisley was also in Dromore canvassing for his DUP representative and we were able to pray for him and his entire entourage on the street - a surreal moment in my life!”
Australia: Praise you Lord for Julie's salvation - you are amazing! Thank you for your faithfulness.
Australia: Thanks for piecing me back together and for the restoration of my family.
New Zealand: “As I sat and looked at the broken pot, I realized that this was me. I began praying and I saw the broken pot being mended, and realized that God was pouring his ‘sealer’ into the ‘pot’ and making me whole.”
