Muslim Healed in Jesus' Name

Published: January 12th, 2009

At the 24-7 International Gathering last year we spent a few minutes praying for our Muslim friends as we were coming into the closing of Ramadan. I specifically mentioned asking that Jesus would show up in dreams and visions to those who were seeking God during that time. I think I specifically mentioned my shopkeeper friend.  She is a very devoted Sunni Muslim and went to Mecca last year.

My teammate and I have continued praying for her since.  In late October, we noticed that she was not feeling well.  She ended up telling us all about aches and pains that have kept her from getting exercise.  She was really discouraged about how much pain she felt from a bad case of gout.  We asked if we could pray for her in Jesus’ name and said yes because, she explained, “We believe in Jesus as a great prophet.”  So my teammate put her hand on her arm out in the parking lot and prayed a simple prayer of healing.  When I was in the shop the following day, she was delighted to tell me that she was healed.  She has remained well since then and has been very excited to be getting exercise again.  I have reminded her a few times that we continue to pray for her health.  She is always very grateful.

Last week she came to me at the shop and told me her daughter had broken her toe quite seriously (falling at the mosque) and required surgery to put a pin in to hold the toe straight.  She was worried about her 9 yr old daughter undergoing general anesthesia and she asked me to pray.  I stopped with her right then, put my hand on her arm, prayed in Jesus’ name for healing, for grace and peace for the family.  Her daughter is at home, still in pain at night, since the surgery but in good spirits.  I see her several times a week. She throws her arms around me and hugs me now!  I continue to let her know I am praying.  When I popped into her shop on Christmas Eve, she gave me strawberry ice cream for the family at Christmas!
