In the Old Testament, the "high places" where those mountain tops where pagan religions gathered to worship their gods and godesses.
 
In places like 1 Kings 14.23 we read about Ashera poles, shrines, and sacred stones "on every high hill and under every spreading tree". Eventually the long walk to these hilltops got a bit - well, long - and these "high places" were build right in the midst of the towns themselves (2 Kings 17.9).
 
So what about today?
 
 
At the end of March, Vancouver, Canada will be hosting the "High Places" conference.  Featuring guests from places like Ibiza, Whistler, and the inner-city Vancouver, it will focus on exploring and influencing global youth culture "hot spots" through prayer, mission, and justice.

SPEAKERS ...
 
BRIAN HEASLEY is currently working on the   Spanish Island of Ibiza . He moved there a year ago to develop a 24-7 Boiler Room and plant a church.
 
Ibiza is the party capitol of Europe and a real hedonistic hotspot. The west end of San Antonio, where Brian and his family live, has more bars and clubs per square mile than anywhere else in the whole of Europe !
 
Brian has served with 24-7Prayer for a number of years and has recently compiled a book of prayers called "Writing on the Wall" (yet to be released) featuring a broad selection of prayers from 24-7prayer rooms around the world.
