What is the Spirit of God stirring in China?
These statistics alone should capture our attention regarding this nation called China! The period of time that we’re living in right now is, in the heart and purposes of God, a very strategic one for the Chinese. Many believe that this is a kairos season for China, or a time of opportunity that God has appointed where China’s thousands of years of history are meeting its destiny. The growth of the Chinese church since 1977 is so massive that it has absolutely no parallel in history. China is coming into the international scene and global consciousness in an unprecedented way, in everything from its economics and foreign policy to the Beijing Olympics in 2008.
As I contemplated this reality, I felt God speak to me: One of the reasons He’s making the world so aware of China is because He is inviting us to participate in His dreams for this people. Particularly, He wants to see loads of prayer mobilized on their behalf!
As an international network of family and friends who believe, at our core, that prayer is priority, we have a part to play in China’s destiny. Two years ago, 24-7 Prayer received an important word from God about this very thing. In an unexpected way, He said that
“24-7 Prayer, with this DNA, is going to break forth in China.”
God is encouraging us to actively participate in this, and so I want to invite you into a specific opportunity to pray for China from January through August of 2008.
The Beijing Summer Olympics will kick off in August ’08, and as an international community, we’d like to respond to this season of opportunity for the Chinese people. We encourage you to consider gathering with at least one other person to pray weekly for China, from January through August 2008.
Make a weekly commitment to get together – for even 30 minutes – with a friend, family member, or group from your church, to pray for China. In this way, you will be part of God’s strategic purposes for the Chinese!
