Transit: Meet the Team

Meet Some of the Transit Team

At the very heart of the course is a  radical model of day-to-day mentoring.  Put simply, Transit is about a shared life style of discipleship, in which there's little distinction between staff and students.  Staff are not paid to contribute to the course. We want to build community around Christ; to be more than leaders - to become friends.   We, like you, will be 'living by faith' because we want to 'make disciples' of Jesus who can truly impact the world.

Let's introduce you to just a few of the amazing people who make Transit what it is:

Mark Knight is from Crowborough, England and is currently based with the Guildford Boiler Room:

"I fell into 24-7 Prayer through joining a summer team bound for Sevilla, Spain via Amsterdam. After that, I moved in at the Reading Boiler Room and spent time praying and working, exploring discipleship and hanging out with the so-called "disaffected". I left Reading a year later and went back to Sevilla, becoming part of the 24-7 community there; studying Spanish and doing bits and pieces of other work, and exploring what it means to have life together as a prayerful and missional community. I have spent the last few years back in the UK, studying theology, and have recently moved to Guildford to be a part of the Boiler Room community there as a sort of 'theologian in residence'."

Daniel Jones oversees Transit in the UK:

"I'm from Swansea in South Wales. I have a BSc in Sport and PE and was part of the Transit course in Kansas City in 05/06.

Hobbies include reading, drumming, sport in general and promoting Wales across the globe. My heart is to see people come to know the Jesus of the Gospels and then living out the lives that they've been called to. Still in awe of God and the adventure He's now taking me on, I'm excited to be a part of what God is doing in the UK."

Alana Wiens is from proudly from Halifax, Canada (by way of Massachusetts) and is currently based with the Guildford Boiler Room:

"I fell into 24-7 'by accident' while ordering books on amazon.com.  I ended up with this Red Moon Rising book and my life has been wrecked since then.  I moved to the UK this year to work with 24-7 training and I can't believe I get to work with these amazing people and see God working around around the world every day."

Hobbies include photography, writing, blogging and drinking copious amounts of tea with friends.

The 24-7transit team is growing daily and this page will be updated soon to introduce you to more of the people who will be contributing to the Course in 2009/10.
