24-7 Ibiza Short Term Team Opportunities

Ibiza is a small island in the Mediterranean Sea that has become the center of Europe’s (and possibly Planet Earth’s) club culture over the past few decades.  24-7 Prayer has been working in what some term a very dark place to plant a year-round praying missional community to bring the light of Jesus and disciple people in His ways. 

Three years ago, God called Brian and Tracy Heasley (along with their two boys, Ellis and Dan) to lead this effort.  Although a small community has formed around the Heasleys, the opportunities to share the gospel in practical ways and to pray for clubbers who have come to Ibiza looking to get high, have sex and basically party like it’s 1999 is so great that they invite the 24-7 movement to come out every summer on short term teams to participate in what God is doing there.

April Team

Our summer mission is to bring God’s light and love to the workers and holiday makers in San Antonio (A town in Ibiza said to have the most pubs and bars per square mile of anywhere in Europe). Right before this incredibly busy season begins, we want to spend time praying, giving the season over to God, preparing the way for what will happen over the summer months.
 
We will walk the streets, the beaches, the bars and clubs soon to be teeming with life and activity, and call out to God to drench them with his presence. We will climb to spiritually significant places and ask God to shine his light so that truth can be seen, the truth that sets people free. We will go to world famous Pacha and worship and pray there as we dance and celebrate music and life. We will pray for the year round residents of Ibiza of all nationalities.

And we will work physically, doing whatever needs to be done to prepare for the coming season.

Summer Team

We are looking for individuals to work with us in Ibiza on mission teams for just under 2 weeks.  What will it involve?

Prayer – lots of prayer!  Times where we come individually or collectively into God’s presence to worship him, allowing ourselves to be affected by him; times of calling out to God for the individuals we meet; times of walking the streets or sitting in peaceful places asking God to show us his heart and asking him to come; times of lifting up his name and worshiping him, dancing with hundreds of others in packed and energetic clubs…

Kindness –  praying with someone, cleaning up someone who’s vomiting, caring for someone who is vulnerable – drunk, drugged, injured or alone - by helping them to a safe place, listening to someone’s story or frustrations of the day.

Team availability and costs

Dates:
Travel (via mainland Spain) on Tue 22 Apr
Return Sat 26th Apr (cheap direct flight available to Stansted departing 10.15, otherwise via mainland)
 
Price would be £135 plus flights and insurance and includes:
 
B&B plus 2 evening meals
Pacha tickets
Ibiza transport
