With the G8 summit coming-soon, Annaleen Mulholland (Edinburgh) announces the launch of a 24-7prayer room, right in the heart of it all;

"At the beginning of July, leaders from eight of the world's most powerful nations are coming to Scotland to discuss matters of global significance, specifically world poverty. Whatever your political angle on the summit (even if you have none!?) this is worth praying into.

The leaders will be meeting in Gleneagles on the 6th-8th July, but the build-up to this event is likely to peak in Edinburgh during the previous weekend. Up to 200,000 people are expected to join the Make Poverty History march on Saturday 2nd, and also to attend other events and demonstrations on the days inbetween.

As well as praying for God's justice and compassion to be carried out, we will be praying for peace and protection for the city and for integrity for the leaders. We will be linking up with other Christian groups including SPEAK, who are bringing the Big Dress up, and possibly some guys from Seattle who have a ministry with the activist community. We will be doing some prayer walking and general roaming and maybe dancing, so we won't be in the prayer room all the time - but that will be our base, and hopefully someone will be there throughout as we are also going to be joining with an older group of intercessors, who are up for covering the times we are out and about.

The 24-7prayer room will run from 12pm Wednesday 29th June to 12pm Wednesday 6th July. The location is the Salvation Army Hall, 1 East Adam St. (opp the Pleasance comedy venue).
