Prayer Rooms can be different things to different people. They are a place of celebration, a place of searching and even a place of sanctuary. When life feels like a bombardment of problems and pressures, too big for us to handle, we can enter Prayer Rooms and meet with the Wonderful Counsellor, the Prince of Peace. Throughout the gospels Jesus invites us to cast our burdens onto him and let him be our strength. Here are some stories of people that turned to a Prayer Room and met with the love of God, finding that perfect love really does cast out all fear.
What was God up to in 2011? ….
One of the huge privileges of working at the International 24-7 Prayer office is that you get to see some of what God is doing all over the World, from America to Asia, Heaven is impacting the Earth. Over the next month we would like to share some of the amazing stories we have gathered from 2011. We have split them up into different themes we feel God was highlighting.
David continually teaches us in Psalms to remember the wondrous works of God, to think on them day and night. We pray that as you read your faith would increase and you would be inspired. He proves Himself again and again to be a God who “is able to do more then we could hope or imagine” (Eph 3:20). Enjoy…..
“Entering the prayer room was like stepping into God’s inner sanctum, every thought and feeling was wasted away by the overwhelming sense of God’s presence and true peace.” Australia
“This is a wonderful idea to find strength to carry on with our lives and God's purpose for them.” Guatemala
"One lady (who had been very skeptical, from another Church) said to me "It was just beautiful, like being injected with Peace". So thank you to all who prayed... but mostly, thank you Jesus!" UK
“A special place, great time. His presence was evident. We need this kind of guided prayer times where we can seek for shelter in HIS arms and renew our strength.” Guatemala
"24-7 prayer had always seemed just a step too far for St Austell…and now they can’t get enough! “We prayed with words, we prayed in tongues, we shouted prayers, we whispered prayers in our hearts, we painted prayers, we sang our prayers, we worshipped, we listened and we waited….and we were not disappointed. God came close and filled the place with His ‘Shalom." UK
Have you had an encounter with God in a Prayer Room? We would love to hear about it in the comments section below.
If you have been inspired by any of these stories and are considering running your own 24-7 Prayer Room, check out Prayer to help get you started.

Adam Heather helps to keep 24-7 talking to the world as part of the communications team based in Guildford. He got connected with 24-7 after spending a year studying with a church in California. He loves reading, worshipping, football, hanging with mates (especially playing games) and he is easily captivated by any exciting new idea. His life has taken him on many different paths but he wouldn’t choose to do this adventure with God any other way. You can catch up with Adam on his blog or twitter
