Chrissie: Are there not parts of the regular translations that equally should not be taken ‘literally’?
21st Nov
Isn’t there a problem with offering Message? It is not a translation – so for readers who have no background in scripture can be misled by it. Isn’t Good News more accurate? The Message is fine, and very stimulating, for those who read it alongside another English translation, but many idioms are too American. They mean something else to us English, and could lead to dodgy doctrine. Yes, use it generously, but please warn people, not to take it literally. Love you guys- keep up the good work.
