Campus America: Watching...Waiting
Rachel Wegner  1st Sep 10

After a summer full of traveling and adventures for many members of the Campus America team (and one or two that are still traveling as I write this), we were overjoyed at the turnout of our Northfield 2010 summer gathering. As I shared in my last post, we spent time worshipping, praying, working, resting and having a load of fun. We recently posted a photo slideshow (with a few video clips for good measure) that we assembled from our time together. It seems the team came away from our time with the 40 or so students and leaders that had gathered both encouraged and amazed at their huge hearts and their passion for prayer and university campuses.

In true 24-7 Prayer style, we had many times of celebratory storytelling during our gathering and throughout the summer months. As students have shared with us this summer, and in the past several months, we've heard stories of even the hardest of hearts coming to the Lord, both physical and emotional healing and seasons of prayer being birthed all around the country. As always, we anticipate more stories like this. We recently posted a few highlights of the Year of Prayer so far. As we reflect on these stories and wait to hear more, our sincere and hopeful prayer as a team is, "Do it again, God! Even bigger!"

With the fall semester and the last quarter of our Year of Prayer newly underway, we have seen a handful of campuses praying already. Our friend and fellow teammate Nathan Chud, along with Trent Sheppard, are also preparing to hit the road for a fall tour to share Nate’s new CD, “Moratorium” and to inspire students with Trent's book, "God on Campus." They will travel around the U.S. and visit many campuses in the process to encourage students and put some meaningful tunes in their hands. They will be announcing tour dates soon. In the meantime, we have a few samplers and an exclusive full-length track of Nate’s album up on the Campus America site. You can also purchase his album via iTunes or the 24-7 Prayer USA Store, and find out more about the stories behind the songs at Nate’s site.

As a team, we get the sense that God is up to really wonderful things with Campus America as we carry out the last part of our Year of Prayer. Keep posted on our latest stories and I will certainly update you all in next month’s entry!

Watching…waiting…
