24-7 Prayer has a long and glorious tradition of unique fund raising auctions. Past auctions have included music, photos, art work and t-shirts. When we gather together people from around the world put their creative skills to good use submitting hand-made items for a competition to raise money for a worthy cause. Last year at our Eurogathering in Amsterdam we auctioned off an amazing jumper (that’s a sweater, for my fellow North Americans) with the 24-7 Prayer values knitted into it. The jumper was made and donated by a beautiful octogenarian named Peggy from the Stanford-le-Hope Boiler Room, and it sold at the auction for over €1,000! Rumor has it she's working on something to offer for the next auction.
All the money we raise in these auctions goes to help people within the movement who need a bit of financial help to keep up the amazing work they are doing. The funds from last year’s jumper were given to help a family in Germany and to support mission work in Ibiza. We want to continue to use these fun auctions to help various ones of our 24-7 family in need.
Which brings me to some great news! As we gather in Edinburgh in September for Magnify we’re going to do it again. This is where you come in!
We need to decide what this year's competition is. Can you help us? We are looking for something (or things) original, fun, creative and auction-able, and we’d love it if you could tell us your ideas. You can leave your suggestions in a comment below, tweet it to us or email and we will announce the results on the 24-7 Blog in the coming weeks.
It’s all up to you, so tell us what you’re thinking! It just might be your idea that helps bring much-needed support to part of the 24-7 family around the world!
Find out more about about Magnify: 24-7 Prayer's International Gathering from the 16th - 18th September 2010 in Edinburgh, Scotland. Book your ticket through the 24-7 Shop.

Haha! I love the poster idea… you know a more general poster competition could totally work.

A 24-7 Prayer poster in the style of Where’s Wally?
Instead of having to find Wally, Wenda, Wizard Whitebeard et al you have to find Pete Greig praying his socks off, Phil Togwell stroking his beard, Carla Harding recording Rewind etc. on a poster head-to-toe with prayer warriors from the past and present.
